Day 1 to 4 Quito – Otavalo – El Angel
Our driver welcomes you to the airport and takes you to your hotel in the historic centre of Quito. A city with many faces and wonderfully situated between high mountains overlooking snowy peaks. The next day you can explore the beautiful historical centre and one of the many museums. From here, take private transport past the famous rose nursery, oldest hacienda and a boat on a crystal blue volcanic lake. The next day you visit the largest market in South America and this evening you have the option to stay at a family home. An untouched treasure is the Park El Angel, along with a train ride in the valley and a salt museum you will visit this. You stay here in the most impressive hotel in Ecuador. After the visit to El Angel, travel to Peguche (Otavalo). If desired, they can introduce you to a number of cultural ceremonies.
Day 5 to 8 Mindo – Cotopaxi
On day 5 you will travel to the Cloud Forest. Along the way there is another excursion at Mitad del Mundo. In Mindo you have the choice to enjoy this bird paradise with a bird tour or seek out the adventure with a Canopy over the treetops. On day 7 we head towards the Volcano Cotopaxi. You first visit the national park in search of herds of wild horses or maybe you will venture to an ascent to 4800m? You will stay at the park, which will produce fantastic images and where beautiful walks can be made. The next day you will experience the local Andean life. You will stay in a lovely cabana in the middle of nature. You can ride a horse here, walk or just enjoy life around you and a beautiful sunset.
Day 9 to 10 Banos
On day 9, the journey across the Andes continues. We're going to see Ecuador's most active volcano now, the Tungurahua. The stay is in the lovely and lively town of Banos. For the next day there is a bike tour planned for you along the most spectacular waterfalls and a rafting adventure waiting.
Day 11 to 14 jungle at Tena – Riobamba
On day 11 we slowly descend and end up in the jungle of Ecuador, near Tena. The Rio Napo can be heard babbling past, complemented by the rhythmic sound of frogs, crickets and monkeys. In short: you are in the Selva (jungle) of Ecuador. With this stay, an animal shelter project is supported run by the community. Activities: you will be taken to your final destination by canoe. In the primary forest surrounding your stay you can walk and look for birds, reptiles and monkeys. You will learn which useful materials grow in the jungle, catch a fish or build a raft. You stay in a great lodge and the meals and activities are included. On day 14 you leave the Jungle and go back to the Andes mountains, Riobamba is the next stop.
Day 15 to 21 Cuenca – Puerto Lopez
This day definitely gets a sporty hue. This morning, depending on your choice, you will wake up in a fantastic old hacienda or our hotel and pick up to climb a piece of chimborazo volcano. Then you will go into the valley by bike and experience the beautiful countryside life. For the hikers we have a nice trek through the paramo. Then the route goes to Cuenca. Along the way you can still take the legendary (tourist) train Nariz del Diablo. On days 17 and 18 you will have time to visit the colonial city of Cuenca, the el Cajas nature park, the markets and many restaurants. On day 19, go from the high Andes to the coast. Here you stay the last 2 nights. Snuggle up on the beach, see the fishermen or visit Poorman's Galapagos and certainly the whales in June to September.
On day 21, you will leave early afternoon with our driver for Guayaquil to go to the airport and catch the flight home.
